SAS Programmer – Statistical Programming for ALS Research

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time or part‑time SAS Programmer to support the Neuromuscular Program’s ALS research at the University of Miami. The role involves cleaning, summarizing, and analyzing clinical data in collaboration with biostatisticians and data managers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute real‑time data quality control procedures.
• Perform routine data checks to ensure integrity and completeness.
• Write SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (tables, listings, figures), and creation of analysis datasets.
• Assist in designing and implementing data‑handling procedures to improve efficiency and support program growth.
• Conduct statistical analyses as defined in statistical analysis plans.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related analytical field.
• Experience in SAS programming.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Team player who can also work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Required skills

• SAS (including macro development).
• SQL knowledge, preferably MySQL.
• Experience with relational databases.
