Sanitation Associate - Day Shift

About the role

The Sanitation Associate assists the shift lead in training sanitation crew and carries out sanitation functions in line with state and federal regulations, company policies and food safety and quality procedures. The associate takes on the lead's responsibilities when the lead is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Help ensure equipment and facilities are clean and meet regulatory and company guidelines.
• Complete all required AIB food safety and quality modules annually or within 15 months of start date.
• Follow SSOP procedures, use only approved chemicals at standardized ratios, and understand MSDS.
• Dismantle, clean and reassemble complex production line machinery and help update cleaning procedures.
• Monitor the crew's cleaning methods and direct them to the recommended procedures.
• Comply with plant safety standards and GMPs, and ensure employees use provided safety gear.
• Act as lead when the lead is away, and assist the manager with sanitation inventory.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation or a similar position.
• Good knowledge of safety, GMPs, sanitation procedures and chemical applications.
• Able to lift, push or pull more than 50 lbs and to operate forklifts, scissor lifts and cleaning equipment.
• Flexible availability for night, weekend, overtime and swing shifts; able to work in hot, cold, wet, dusty and messy conditions, on ladders and with boom lifts.
