Sales Compensation Architect

About the role

Coder is seeking a Sales Compensation Architect to own the design, administration, and continuous improvement of incentive compensation across its go‑to‑market organization. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Monetization, you will partner with sales leadership, finance, accounting and engineering to build and refine a home‑grown commission platform that aligns pay with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, maintain and iterate incentive compensation plans for all GTM roles, ensuring alignment with strategy and accurate, timely payouts.
• Own end‑to‑end quota and territory modeling, collaborating with Sales Ops and Finance to set data‑driven targets.
• Administer the full commission lifecycle: plan creation, calculation, validation, dispute resolution and coordination with payroll.
• Partner with FP&A to build commission forecasting models for operating plans and board reporting.
• Work with Accounting on accruals, ASC 606/ASC 340 considerations and audit support.
• Collaborate with Engineering & IT to translate plan logic into system requirements, test the platform and drive its roadmap.
• Maintain clear documentation, dashboards and reporting that give visibility into attainment, payout trends and plan effectiveness.

Required profile

• 5+ years of progressive experience in sales compensation design, administration or operations within a SaaS or software company.
• Proven ability to design incentive plans that translate business objectives into measurable mechanics.
• Strong financial modeling expertise, capable of building multi‑scenario compensation models and stress‑testing economics.
• Deep understanding of the full commission lifecycle, including quota setting, calculation, accruals and audit.
• Experience working with commission tooling, either vendor platforms or custom‑built systems.
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 and ASC 340 as they relate to commission expense.
• Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence for handling disputes and stakeholder alignment.
