Safety & Wellness Supervisor (Anti-Trafficking)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Safety & Wellness Supervisor to lead programs that support victims of trafficking, crime, and humanitarian immigrants across the DMV region. The role combines team leadership with direct client services, ensuring culturally responsive, trauma‑informed care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide regular individual supervision, team meetings, and coaching to staff.
• Train team members on core competencies, trauma‑informed practices, and crisis protocols.
• Monitor program implementation, identify emerging needs, and report issues to management.
• Assist the program manager with data collection, reporting, strategic planning, and program design.
• Deliver psychosocial support, short‑term counseling, and crisis intervention to clients in urgent situations.
• Advocate for client needs and guide pathways toward self‑sufficiency.
• Coordinate services across internal departments and external partners, ensuring compliance with grants and social‑work standards.
• Build and maintain partnerships, representing IRC in local coalitions related to safety and wellness.

Required profile

• Experience supervising staff in a social‑work or humanitarian setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable populations, including trafficking survivors and immigrants.
• Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed and crisis‑intervention practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to client‑centered, culturally responsive care.
