Safety and Security Ambassador

About the role

The Safety and Security Ambassador provides a visible presence across multiple hospital locations, greeting visitors, offering information, and ensuring a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Staff information desks across the hospital (ICU, NICU, OR waiting rooms, discharge lobby, etc.)
• Greet visitors and patients at entrance points and provide directions
• Monitor assigned areas for safety and security concerns and report them to the supervisor or UAMS Police Department
• Assist with cart driving, after‑hours desk coverage, and emergency department support
• Perform work safely following all company policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate logs of incidents and observations
• Provide information and assistance to patients and families in accordance with UAMS Core Concepts

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in security, hospitality, or customer‑service roles
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Ability to follow basic instructions, demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, and provide excellent customer service
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Proficient with basic computer applications for logging and communication
• Commitment to treating others with dignity and respect
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
