RN Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Various Shifts

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Labor & Delivery unit. This position offers a variety of shifts to support the delivery of safe, high‑quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and their families.
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, administer medications, and assist with deliveries.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients on labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Arkansas.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high‑stress, team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Labor & Delivery nursing competencies.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• IV therapy and medication administration.
• Maternal‑fetal monitoring.
