About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Labor & Delivery unit. This position offers a variety of shifts to support the delivery of safe, high‑quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and their families.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, administer medications, and assist with deliveries.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients on labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.
Required profile
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Arkansas.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high‑stress, team‑oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
Required skills
- Labor & Delivery nursing competencies.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
- IV therapy and medication administration.
- Maternal‑fetal monitoring.
