Rice Mill Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Rice Mill Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment used in rice milling operations. This position ensures maximum equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and supports safe and efficient production through preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on rice mill equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair milling machinery, conveyors, bucket elevators, dryers, polishers, graders, separators, and packaging equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and replace worn components such as bearings, belts, chains, gears, motors, and sensors.
• Conduct inspections, read schematics, perform welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and instrumentation while ensuring compliance with safety and food‑quality standards.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical school certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in grain processing or food manufacturing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, work at heights, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces when authorized.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Industrial electrical systems up to 480 V.
• PLC‑controlled equipment knowledge.
• Experience with bearings, conveyors, elevators, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
