Resident Care Specialist

About the role

The Resident Care Specialist provides in‑person, trauma‑informed support at Genesis Home, a residential setting for women recovering from human trafficking. Working evenings and weekends, the specialist helps maintain a safe, calm environment, supports programming, and responds to urgent situations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site coverage during assigned evening and weekend shifts, acting as the primary contact for resident questions and emergencies.
• Monitor the home environment, intervene in conflicts, and apply trauma‑informed de‑escalation techniques.
• Support recreational, emotional wellness, relationship‑building, and spiritual activities for residents.
• Document incidents, concerns, and significant events promptly and communicate them to leadership.
• Collaborate with program staff to share trends, concerns, and after‑hours developments affecting resident care.

Required profile

• Alignment with Created Women, Inc.’s mission and values, and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
• High school diploma or GED; prior experience in anti‑trafficking or related fields preferred.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, set appropriate limits, and maintain professional boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Valid Florida driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass an FDLE Level II background check.
