Research Project Manager

About the role

The Center for Applied Communications and Networks at Texas A&M University System is seeking a Research Project Manager to lead and coordinate technical research projects focused on network technologies and communications systems. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from proposal development through execution and final reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate proposal development meetings, track action items, and manage submission deadlines.
• Maintain project tracking systems, monitor milestones, budgets, and expenses across multiple concurrent projects.
• Coordinate activities with faculty, researchers, industry partners, and sponsors, organizing meetings and summarizing outcomes.
• Prepare progress reports, final reports, and other documentation required by funding agencies.
• Support the Center’s leadership in strategic planning and project prioritization.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing research or technical projects in an academic or industry setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with budgeting, expense tracking, and reporting requirements for funded research.
