Research Assistant

About the role

The Center for Innovations in Community Safety (CICS) at Georgetown University seeks a Research Assistant to support its mission of transforming police culture. Reporting to the Director of Research and Evaluation, the RA will assist with research design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings across a range of community‑safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Support CICS research and evaluation activities, including survey design, focus groups, and participatory action research.
• Assist with data entry, cleaning, and statistical analysis using SPSS, Qualtrics, or Stata.
• Manage research projects for programs such as ABLE, Policing for Tomorrow, and Jigsaw, including scheduling meetings, tracking action items, and monitoring budgets.
• Conduct literature reviews and draft IRB proposals, research instruments, grant applications, and progress reports.
• Develop visual representations of findings, such as charts and infographics, and present results to donors, policymakers, journalists, and academics.

Required profile

• Ability to support mixed‑methods research and evaluation initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills for project management and stakeholder coordination.
• Effective written communication for drafting reports, proposals, and presentations.
