Reliability Engineering Internship - Spring 2027

About the role

IKO Pacific, a roofing materials manufacturer in Sumas, Washington, offers a Reliability Engineering internship for Spring 2027 within Plant Operations. The internship gives hands-on experience working with the Production and Maintenance departments, supported by Reliability Engineers. Candidates must live locally in Washington State and be authorized to work in the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Production and Maintenance to develop an Asset Hierarchy List, Document Navigation Accelerator (linked drawings), inventory and spare parts lists, job plans and preventive maintenance for the CMMS.
• Help implement the CMMS across work orders, preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, inventory management and procurement.
• Standardize spare parts lists by reviewing drawings and documentation, line walkdowns and vendor contact.
• Collect and analyze downtime data in Prodac, exported to Excel and the CMMS, and trend highly critical equipment with recurring failures.
• Optimize spare parts to support preventive and predictive maintenance inspections of highly critical assets.
• Add assembly drawings and P&IDs to the in-house document navigation system, create and review drawings and field labels, and update asset information.
• Recommend ways to sort, categorize and standardize stock items, and help build reliability and maintenance reports and dashboards.
• Develop and update SOPs, work instructions and training videos.

Required profile

• Junior or Senior degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering (required).
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Critical thinking and a high degree of organization.
• No travel required; authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables)
• AutoCAD is an asset
