Registered Nurse Supervisor – State of Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead nursing care on a unit or shift. This full‑time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned unit or shift.
• Ensure staff assess client health problems, develop care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Oversee quality of nursing care for ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients.
• Advise clients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and case management.
• Supervise and schedule direct‑care staff, providing training and performance feedback.
• Administer prescribed medications and intravenous fluids, documenting all actions.
• Collaborate with the health‑care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care plans.
• Maintain detailed reports, modify treatment plans as needed, and monitor diet, activity, and symptom changes.
• Prepare clients for examinations and treatments, and ensure rooms, instruments, and supplies are ready.

Required profile

• Active RN license in Georgia (or Nurse Licensure Compact).
• Minimum three years of experience supervising direct‑care staff.
• BSN preferred but not required if extensive experience is demonstrated.
• Current professional licensure and certifications as required by DBHDD.
