Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Crisis Unit

About the role

The Registered Nurse will lead patient care in the Psychiatric Crisis Unit, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN will delegate, direct, and assist team members while ensuring quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Analyze data to drive changes that achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Effective verbal and written communication, good judgment, and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
