Registered Nurse - Oncology, Full Time Nights

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time night shift Registered Nurse in its Oncology unit. The RN provides patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care with a holistic view of physical, emotional, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients and collect information to build a standard of care and evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing plan
• Follow established nursing objectives, standards, policies and procedures
• Ensure accurate documentation and adequate supplies, and know how to operate equipment
• Act as an educator to peers, patients and families
• Maintain compliance with hospital procedural standards and support the hospital's mission and vision
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Florida
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
• Oncology experience preferred
• Ability to lift and move patients and equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work in a stressful environment, independently and with attention to detail

Required skills

• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements
• TB/PPD surveillance program maintenance
• Maintenance of required professional licenses and certifications
