Registered Nurse – Neonatal ICU

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This full‑time, on‑site position provides direct care to critically ill newborns and supports a multidisciplinary team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to NICU patients, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and NICU protocols.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and monitoring devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate families on newborn care, discharge planning, and follow‑up requirements.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arkansas.
• Experience or training in neonatal intensive care preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergent situations.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Neonatal patient monitoring and assessment.
• Ventilator and incubator operation.
• Medication administration in a critical care setting.
