Registered Nurse – Main Operating Room

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Main Operating Room team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The RN will provide direct patient care, coordinate with surgical staff, and ensure safe and efficient operating room procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgery in the Main OR.
• Prepare the operating suite, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to maintain patient safety.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to emergencies during surgery.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.

Required profile

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Arkansas.
• Experience in perioperative or surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
