Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor & Delivery Unit at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides direct nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and support safe deliveries.
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, assess labor progress, and document findings.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout the labor experience.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas System (including student employees and graduate assistants) who can access Workday to apply.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the United States.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Ability to work variable shifts in a fast‑paced labor and delivery environment.
