Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy Infusion

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 to provide chemotherapy infusion services at the Sylvester Cancer Center. This full‑time, onsite position supports patients undergoing cancer treatment in a compassionate, academic medical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs and symptoms.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team while protecting privacy.
• Assist with discharge planning and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
