Registered Nurse – Cardiology Stepdown Unit (Full‑Time Nights)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide patient‑centered care on the Cardiology Stepdown Unit during night shifts. This position uses the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. Ochsner seeks compassionate professionals who can contribute to a diverse, inclusive team.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members to ensure quality outcomes.
• Educate patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members on care plans and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s policies.

Required profile

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• No prior experience required.

• Computer data‑entry and retrieval skills.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
