Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

About the role

Competitive Range Solutions seeks an experienced Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to lead the design and implementation of structured cabling systems for DoD‑related projects. You will work within a multi‑contractor government team to ensure secure, standards‑compliant telecommunications infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement structured cabling systems that meet or exceed technical requirements and DoD STIG standards.
• Perform site visits to collect data, evaluate existing telecommunications and building technology systems, and define project scopes.
• Maintain inside‑plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, and fiber.
• Develop Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) for cable rack installation, wiring, and testing.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a senior or lead RCDD in a DoD environment.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a valid RCDD certification.

Required skills

• Structured cabling design and implementation.
• DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliance.
• Inside‑plant infrastructure components: conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber.
• Engineering Installation Plans (EIP) development.
