Rapid Response Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Competitive Range Solutions is seeking a Rapid Response Senior Network Engineer to join its IT Operations team. The role focuses on maintaining the integrity, security, and efficiency of the enterprise transport network while collaborating closely with Department of Defense (DoD) and other government entities.

Key responsibilities

• Document, configure, and baseline all network assets (hardware, software, documentation) to DoD engineering standards and maintain accurate records in the government‑provided system.
• Develop and maintain a Configuration Management Database (CMDB) supporting asset, incident, problem, change, release, capacity, operations, project, and security management, ensuring compliance with MOAs, MOUs, and SLAs.
• Track warranty and licensing details throughout the hardware and software lifecycle and produce monthly configuration management reports.
• Integrate the configuration management system with other agency services, providing appropriate access to designated personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years operating, troubleshooting, and installing network routers and switches.
• Minimum 3 years designing and architecting routed and switched networks in a DoD environment.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to work under DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and IAT Level III requirements.

Required skills

• Configuration and installation of routers, switches, and related network services.
• Network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and trend analysis.
• Network virtualization technologies and multi‑tenant network architectures.
• Familiarity with equipment from multiple vendors and scripting for network threshold events.
