Radar Planner/Controller

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Radar Planner/Controller for the Space Force Range Contract. The role supports launch vehicle tracking on the Western Range, working in the Range Control Center (RCC) or Missile Flight Control Center (MFCC) alongside controllers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and perform planning functions using the Universal Documentation System (UDS)
• Assist controllers with personnel actions and mission systems during operations
• Manage real-time telemetry and range safety data needed for launch vehicle tracking
• Act as Telemetry Controller, Radar Controller, Acquisition Data Systems Controller and Real-Time Data Controller
• Plan, schedule and support day-to-day operations, and train and mentor planners and controllers
• Conduct pre-test briefings and post-test critiques, and evaluate system conditions before and during launches
• Troubleshoot circuit and telemetry or flight operations system issues in real time and adjust patching and configurations
• Evaluate proposed changes to operating procedures to improve data quality and performance
• Prepare reports, procedures and operational documents, and coordinate with the mission team and federal government entities

Required profile

• Associate degree in a technical or analytical field, or equivalent education, training and experience or related military experience
• Two years of Western Range technical experience; knowledge of O&M systems and launch operations preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
• Good oral and written communication, multitasking under pressure and attention to detail
