Quality Technician

About the role

As a Quality Technician at Alfa Laval, you will ensure that materials, parts, and products meet the highest quality standards, ASME code, and customer requirements. This onsite position supports the company’s mission to create a more resource‑efficient world.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections and tests according to ASME, customer ITP, regulatory and company standards.
• Identify non‑conforming products, analyze failures, determine root causes and place inventory on hold.
• Verify equipment calibration and compliance with quality specifications.
• Assist leads in production, monitor manufacturing activities for conformance, and support internal/external audits.
• Conduct receiving inspections, review test reports, weld inspection records and prepare Non‑Conformity Reports.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (college/technical degree preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in heat‑exchanger manufacturing quality control or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Physical ability to walk 60% of the day and lift up to 45 lb.

Required skills

• PT, Hardness readings, MT and Visual Inspection.
• Knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ and AWS D1.1.
• Familiarity with ASME U1a forms and National Board (NBIC) requirements.
• Welding inspection and review of post‑weld heat‑treat charts.
• Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
