Quality Technician

About the role

The Quality Technician will join 3M’s manufacturing and laboratory teams in Cottage Grove, MN, supporting product quality through testing, data analysis, and collaboration with engineering staff. This position offers a flexible work environment with varying shifts and testing assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot quality testing equipment.
• Perform QC measurements and record dispositions.
• Communicate test results to manufacturing engineers.
• Identify and help resolve quality‑related issues.
• Conduct Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies.
• Maintain accurate records of all quality testing activities.
• Perform visual inspections of components and products.
• Support experiments and scale‑up manufacturing under technical staff direction.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or higher (verified before start).
• At least 1 year combined experience in a manufacturing, pilot‑plant, or laboratory environment (private, public, government, or military).
• Three years experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
