Quality Control Inspector

About the role

Armstrong Fluid Technology, which has operated in North Tonawanda, NY since 1965, is hiring a Quality Control Inspector. The inspector inspects incoming, in-process, final and outgoing materials, tools, workpieces and products such as castings, cutting tools, gauges, machine parts and assembled units for conformance to specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect incoming, in-process, final and outgoing materials, tools, workpieces and products against specifications.
• Maintain quality assurance documents, samples, equipment and related files.
• Keep the work area clean, orderly and safe.
• Perform other related duties as directed by Quality Assurance leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or vocational training equivalent in machining trades.
• Manual dexterity, strength and stamina; able to lift 45 pounds unassisted.
• Good visual acuity including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• Able to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.

Required skills

• Use of basic inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers and go/no-go gages.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Basic computer skills, with emphasis on spreadsheets, word processing and digital photography.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly.
