Quality Assurance Technician

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician in Lubbock, Texas. The role acts as a final check before products leave the factory and verifies the quality of incoming raw materials and every step of the manufacturing process. The site is currently open Monday to Friday, day shift only, and night-shift openings are available.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor product integrity and quality without slowing production, with a keen eye for detail
• Perform daily line audits to find defects and their root causes
• Inspect and test manufactured goods against customer specifications and acceptable tolerances
• Inspect product during extrusion, compare it with customer specs, and inspect and tag finished product
• Test incoming raw material and maintain records
• Issue SAP Quality Notifications as required and complete quality paperwork
• Use diagnostic equipment such as micrometers, pi tapes and calipers
• Maintain a neat work area, follow safety requirements and wear required PPE

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of experience in quality/inspection procedures (required)
• At least 1 year in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
• Fluent English; bilingualism is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk 8 to 12 hours on the plant floor, and work in hot and cold conditions
• Flexible shifts and ability to climb ladders and work around hot machinery

Required skills

• SAP or ERP experience is a plus
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and data entry
• Knowledge of SOPs and GMPs
