Public Information Intern – Social Media Content Creation

About the role
The Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs is seeking a Public Information Intern to support the Division for Palestinian Rights in creating original content for its social media channels. The role is based at UN Headquarters in New York and can be adapted to hybrid or remote work depending on the candidate’s needs.
Key responsibilities
- Identify UN‑related storytelling opportunities and turn them into social media content.
- Create and publish posts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok.
- Produce multimedia material from special events such as film screenings, concerts and exhibitions.
- Provide videography, video‑editing and animation support, including subtitles and visual effects.
- Capture and edit photos and videos for web content and announcements.
- Assist with drafting documents and updating the UNISPAL website.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
- Field of study related to communications, media, journalism or a similar discipline.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Adobe After Effects.
- Experience in video editing and animation.
- Familiarity with photo‑editing and videography tools.
- Knowledge of major social‑media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok).
