Public Health Nursing Supervisor – Clinic Manager

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Northeast Health District is seeking a Public Health Nursing Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary HIV clinic in Athens. This full‑time position oversees daily operations, ensures patient‑centered care, and supports patients with complex medical and social needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise clinical, case management, administrative, and laboratory staff.
• Oversee daily clinic operations to deliver efficient, patient‑focused services.
• Develop and implement workflows, policies, and procedures to improve performance.
• Coordinate care, including case management, linkage, and retention for high‑needs patients.
• Monitor productivity, patient flow, and service utilization; address operational challenges.
• Manage scheduling strategies, reduce no‑shows, and ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Ryan White program requirements.
• Oversee laboratory operations, insurance verification, billing, and reimbursement processes.
• Support staff training, professional development, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Foster a collaborative, team‑based environment focused on high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of RN supervisory/management experience *or* two (2) years at the lower‑level PH Nursing Supervisor 1.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
• Completion of a Public Health Nursing (PHN) course within six months of hire if no prior PHN experience.
