Public Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Public Engagement Coordinator works within the High Museum of Art’s Learning and Civic Engagement Department to design and deliver inclusive public programs that connect Atlanta residents and visitors with the museum’s collections and exhibitions. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Engagement, this full‑time role balances program planning, logistics, and community outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual slate of public education programs, including Friday night events, art camps, Oasis, holiday programs, and public conversations.
• Manage all logistical elements: scheduling, space reservations, registration, ticketing, contracting, ordering supplies, audio/visual support, and post‑event evaluation.
• Handle contracts, payments, billing, travel, and lodging for performers and contractors.
• Participate in museum‑wide, departmental, and project‑based planning meetings to align programs with exhibitions and special projects.
• Oversee camp logistics such as supply ordering, ticket building, registration, implementation, and caregiver communication.

Required profile

• Strong organizational and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with artists, contractors, and the public.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as program needs dictate.
