Coordinator, Community Engagement

About the role

The Coordinator, Community Engagement supports the design, coordination, and delivery of arts‑based programs that foster social connection, dialogue, and learning. Working within the Learning and Civic Engagement Department, the role bridges community partners, museum staff, and participants to create meaningful experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement monthly programs such as Neighborhood Meet Up, Art After Loss, and Musing Together.
• Manage logistics including space reservations, facilitator scheduling, material preparation, and participant communications.
• Oversee volunteer program activities and support community outreach and audience development efforts.
• Handle administrative tasks such as documentation, payment processing, expense tracking, and attendance management.
• Evaluate program impact through data collection, assessment, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Experience coordinating community‑focused programs or events.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with partners, participants, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse community organizations.
• Commitment to inclusive, accessible programming for varied audiences.
