Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

About the role

The University of Maryland Health Center is seeking a full‑time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join its Psychiatry and Substance Use Services team. You will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to a diverse student population on campus, with a hybrid work model that includes one telework day after probation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, intake assessments, and ongoing medication management.
• Collaborate with the Counseling Center, primary care, and other campus health services for shared and urgent patients.
• Provide triage, urgent evaluations, and warm handoffs for mental‑health crises.
• Maintain a full patient census, schedule new visits (90 min) and follow‑ups (30 min), and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Document care in the Electronic Health Record system used by PASS.

Required profile

• Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with appropriate state credentials.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and ability to learn the PASS platform quickly.
• Strong problem‑solving, prioritization, and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and seek guidance when needed.
