Project Manager, Construction (Traveling)

About the role

The Traveling Project Manager oversees construction projects from design through closeout, coordinating permitting, construction, quality control, scheduling, and budgeting while serving as the primary client liaison. The role also mentors junior staff and adapts to diverse geographic markets across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day management of assigned projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
• Coordinate activities across design, permitting, procurement, construction, occupancy, and closeout phases.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor performance metrics against KPIs.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including decisions, action items, and meeting records.
• Manage financial inputs such as budget tracking, cost reporting, invoice management, and forecasting analysis.
• Conduct regular site visits, resolve construction issues, and support quality assurance initiatives.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication, prepare and lead meetings, and ensure clear documentation of outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices across project teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of project management experience in construction, facilities, or related industries.
• Proven ability to manage scope, milestones, budgets, and schedules on complex, multi‑phase projects.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions or geographic markets.
• Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel 25%–75% of the time and work effectively in unfamiliar project environments.
