Project Manager, Construction

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Project Manager, Construction to lead and coordinate construction projects for the University of Miami. The role serves as the primary liaison between the university and external contractors, designers, and consultants, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and maintain project status reports, ensuring alignment with contract specifications.
• Develop and monitor construction budgets, providing regular updates and analysis.
• Create phase‑specific schedules and integrate them into the master project timeline.
• Collaborate with staff engineers to finalize construction documents.
• Manage the bidding process, evaluate qualified bids, and prepare bid summary analyses.
• Prepare contract documentation that meets lender requirements.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to verify compliance and lead status meetings.
• Review and approve consultant invoices from architects, engineers, and special inspectors.
• Assess and improve internal controls, ensuring adherence to university policies and employee training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork orientation and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with standard office software and relevant computer applications.
