Project Finance Senior Analyst

About the role

The Senior Analyst will join BBVA's Project Finance team in New York, supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of infrastructure and energy deals. This position blends analytical work with client‑facing activities, offering exposure to the full deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior team members with underwriting, due diligence, and financial analysis of project finance opportunities.
• Prepare market material, client pitches, information memoranda, and lender presentations.
• Maintain internal applications, reports, and dashboards for product and credit monitoring.
• Support the technical and legal diligence process and help coordinate bank meetings.
• Participate in portfolio management, fee recognition reporting, and loan closing activities.
• Collaborate with the Madrid team and other internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in corporate or investment banking project finance, or in construction/energy firms.
• Fluent English; Spanish fluency is a plus.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and within a team environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg (preferred).
• Financial modeling, DCF analysis, and financial statement analysis.
