Project Accountant – Hybrid Role

About the role

The Project Accountant will act as the primary liaison between Finance, IT, and external vendors, ensuring that project deliverables meet accounting standards and that financial data remains accurate. This hybrid position combines on‑site collaboration in Englewood with remote work, supporting month‑end close, reconciliations, audits, and system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting contributions to IT development, including testing plans, timeline maintenance, and deliverable tracking.
• Review financial data for GAAP compliance and independently validate journal entries, reports, and payments.
• Coordinate user testing and validation of new accounting functionality.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and support year‑end audit requests.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, delays, and resource concerns.
• Standardize accounting processes across departments and assist with budget support.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Accounting or Business with an accounting concentration.
• 3‑4+ years of experience with general ledger, month‑end close, and account analysis.
• 3‑4+ years working with ERP or financial systems.
• Results‑oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP or other financial systems.
