Programme Management Officer

About the role

The Programme Management Officer joins the Digital Transformation Team (DTT) of UN Peacekeeping, reporting to the Chief of the Innovation and Digital Transformation Service. The role supports the implementation of the Strategy for Digital Transformation of UN Peacekeeping, aiming to enhance safety, security, and mandate delivery through technology.

Key responsibilities

• Identify innovation opportunities within UN Peacekeeping operations and develop strategies to address field challenges.
• Support partnership building with internal and external stakeholders, including academia, public and private sectors, to create innovation frameworks and best‑practice networks.
• Design, organise and implement solution‑focused mechanisms such as hackathons, accelerators, incubators and bootcamps in collaboration with field and headquarters staff.
• Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects, monitoring progress and proposing corrective actions.
• Conduct consulting assignments, facilitate workshops and assist in the development of innovation projects.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources, and undertake survey initiatives including data‑collection tool design.
