Program Associate – U.S. Cash Initiatives

About the role

GiveDirectly is expanding its Rx Kids cash allowance program to Mississippi and seeks a US Program Associate to support implementation of large‑scale cash initiatives. The role will work closely with program partners, manage community outreach, and ensure a high‑quality recipient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead customer service for recipients, handling email and phone inquiries, case‑managing concerns, and overseeing verification staff as the program scales.
• Support operational processes including payments, surveys, and data tracking, and own components of projects such as community engagement and partner liaison.
• Maintain relationships with implementing partners, local service organizations, and act as the program’s community representative.
• Document and improve team processes, track efficiency metrics, and contribute to knowledge management.
• Travel regularly to Rx Kids sites across Mississippi and attend occasional team events in New York.

Required profile

• 2+ years of work or volunteer experience in project management or people coordination.
• Strong communication, organizational and time‑management abilities.
• High emotional intelligence, problem‑solving skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish, Arabic or Chinese is a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams and propose process improvements.
