Program Assistant – Per Diem (Evening & Overnight Shifts)

About the role

The Program Assistant supports daily operations of the Women’s Mental Health Shelter, providing administrative, customer service, and operational assistance to clients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and orient clients, answer questions, and respond to client needs.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including laundry, dorm area organization, and medication observation.
• De‑escalate on‑site crises, resolve conflicts, and document incident reports.
• Support the shelter intake process and identify priority concerns.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

Required profile

• Strong communication, organizational, and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a fast‑paced schedule.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in homelessness services, behavioral health, or residential support preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is ideal.

Required skills

• Administrative and clerical proficiency.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
