Production Supervisor - 1

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials headquartered in Canada with production facilities worldwide, is hiring a Production Supervisor-1 at its IKO Glass Fiber facility in Chester, South Carolina. The position is full time and sits in the Production department.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and maintain IKO safety goals and a safe work environment, leading safety, housekeeping and corrective action efforts
• Lead primary employees to meet goals in safety, quality, value, morale and housekeeping
• Plan and administer personnel policies, manage department priorities and exceptions, and report progress to management
• Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and record personnel data accurately and on time
• Staff the department according to established levels, recommend and coordinate staffing changes, and schedule teams including work assignments, rotations, training, vacations, breaks, overtime and shift rotations
• Lead employee training, including new hires and cross-training, and coordinate with the production manager on staffing, goals and counseling of hourly associates
• Set employee goals, run quarterly performance reviews, interview and hire new staff, and provide orientation

Required profile

• High school diploma required
• Preferably at least eight years of relevant supervisory experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to give simple and accurate instructions
