Production Mechanic

About the role

The Production Mechanic will ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment at Bosch’s Charleston plant. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical components to meet safety, quality, and production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair defective parts such as gears, clutches, bushings, shafts, bearings, solenoids, valves, pumps, and directional controls.
• Monitor production lines, reduce scrap and re‑work, and perform adjustments to maintain proper setup.
• Analyze equipment issues, execute repairs, or initiate corrective actions when problems exceed your scope.
• Lead continuous‑improvement (CIP) activities to boost equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime.
• Instruct associates on proper machine use, tool care, and measurement techniques.
• Control parts flow, track production quantities, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
• Perform line and machine changeovers and maintain an organized workspace.

• Strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
• Willingness to suggest improvements and participate in cross‑training.
• Commitment to following Bosch standards and procedures.
