Product Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Product Engineer to join its Defense division in Salt Lake City, working on missile control actuation systems. You will own technical responsibility for production programs, acting as the primary interface for design, manufacture, assembly, and test issues.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the day‑to‑day technical interface for production hardware, resolving design, manufacturing, assembly, and test questions.
• Initiate and manage design changes, deviations, and test failure diagnoses.
• Develop and provide work instructions, acceptance test procedures, and engineering documentation to support efficient production.
• Perform root‑cause and corrective‑action analyses, lead Material Review Board activities, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure on‑time hardware delivery.
• Support equipment evaluation and implementation for assembly fixtures, flow‑line systems, and test equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or a comparable engineering field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, system schematics, and technical documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Required skills

• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge per ASME Y14.5.
• Technical expertise in electromechanical actuation products and electronics.
• Proficiency in creating work instructions, engineering memos, and electronic historical records.
• Root‑cause and corrective‑action (RCCA) analysis experience.
