About the role
Moog is seeking a Product Engineering Technician to join its Defense division in Salt Lake City, working on missile control actuation systems. The position is onsite with a 9/80 schedule, offering a collaborative environment focused on high‑precision electro‑hydraulic components.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and perform engineering tests and inspections of hardware.
- Diagnose performance failures of electro‑hydraulic servo components and specify rework.
- Prepare, analyze, and evaluate data trends.
- Author production assembly/test documentation such as routers, travel cards, and work instructions.
- Assist technicians with assembly, test methods, equipment use, and anomaly resolution.
- Monitor producibility and drive continuous improvements.
- Act as technical liaison for project/product engineers and support project meetings.
- Disposition suspect material and test failures with engineering rationale.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar engineering technician role.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, system schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to work onsite in Salt Lake City; remote candidates will not be considered.
Required skills
- Blueprint and schematic interpretation.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
- Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
- Technical expertise in electromechanical actuation products and electronics.
- Understanding of high‑precision electro‑hydraulic servo components.
- Data preparation, analysis, and trend evaluation.
- Creation of assembly and test documentation.
