Product and Business Development Lead

About the role

EDM International is seeking a Product and Business Development Lead who understands electric utility transmission and distribution work and can turn field problems into practical products. You will collaborate with customers, technical teams, and the Products group to identify opportunities, test concepts, and guide developments from prototype to production.

Key responsibilities

• Talk with utility customers and observe product performance in the field to uncover unmet needs.
• Evaluate new product concepts for technical feasibility and commercial potential.
• Define requirements, scope, costs, testing plans, and success criteria with internal teams, contractors, and customers.
• Guide product development from concept through validation, documentation, and production handoff.
• Demonstrate prototypes, gather feedback, and refine the product.
• Develop customer relationships, sales channels, and market opportunities for the Products sector.
• Improve processes and tools that support product development and day‑to‑day operations.

Required profile

• At least six years of experience with electric utility transmission and distribution systems.
• Six or more years in product management, product development, R&D, technical customer engagement, or related fields.
• Ability to translate field challenges into clear requirements and decisions.
• Sound judgment on what to build, how to test it, and when to advance an idea.
• Comfort working directly with customers and coordinating cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
