Process Engineer

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a Canadian-owned manufacturer of roofing and building materials with production facilities worldwide, is looking for a Process Engineer in Hillsboro. The engineer defines and resolves process problems, develops standard work, commissions new equipment and works with plant management and corporate engineering to improve efficiency, output and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Define and resolve process problems through continuous improvement and structured problem-solving.
• Develop standard work and train operators and supervisors to run plant processes consistently.
• Commission new production equipment and processes, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
• Work with Plant and Maintenance Superintendents, Plant Engineer and HSE Coordinator to improve plant efficiency, output and safety.
• Work with the Corporate Engineering Team on corporate process standards, strategic initiatives and process issue resolution.
• Take measurements, collect and interpret data from technical and operating staff to drive process improvements.
• Provide technical leadership for environmental monitoring and plant environmental controls.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, prepare routine reports and manage action plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 5-10 years of hands-on manufacturing experience with a proven track record of measurable results.
• Experience with project management from planning to completion.
• Legal ability to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Lean Six Sigma skills and experience preferred; Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
