Probate Litigation Paralegal

About the role

A boutique estate planning, asset protection and estate administration law firm in Coral Gables, Florida is hiring a Probate Litigation Paralegal to support its litigation department and attorneys. The position is full-time and in-office, and candidates must live in South Florida. It is a long-term position with promotion from within considered first.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes and regulations relevant to probate administration and litigation.
• Summarize and analyze legal documents to help attorneys prepare cases.
• Draft, edit and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions and discovery requests.
• Organize and maintain case files and ensure documents are filed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate document production, including exhibits and deposition materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a probate litigation paralegal; applicants with only general paralegal experience in another area of law should not apply.
• Strong understanding of legal concepts and procedures related to estate litigation.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Legal research, including the use of Westlaw.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.

• Base salary of $70,000-$80,000 plus two annual bonuses based on KPIs.
