About the role
Venus Aerospace is seeking a Principal Propulsion Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of advanced propulsion hardware, from individual components to complete engine assemblies and propellant management systems. The role bridges concept studies to flight‑ready hardware in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion piece parts and assemblies.
- Generate CAD models and detailed P&IDs for engine systems.
- Perform fluid network modeling, select COTS components, and work with suppliers.
- Develop and execute test plans, analyze results, and provide system engineering support.
- Design and analyze tanks, supporting structures, and PPMS.
Required profile
- 10+ years of aerospace vehicle and engine systems engineering/design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience on multidisciplinary project teams and systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials, fluid‑system specifications, and high‑load thermal environments.
Required skills
- CAD tools: NX, SolidWorks.
- Simulation software: ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, StarCCM+.
- Programming/analysis: Matlab, Python.
- GFSSP, Microsoft Visio.
- Fluid network modeling and P&ID generation.
