Principal Programme Management Officer (Temporary)

About the role

The United Nations Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance is seeking a Principal Programme Management Officer to lead the day‑to‑day implementation of the Umoja ERP solution. This temporary, full‑time position reports to the ERP Director and combines techno‑functional leadership with hands‑on coordination of finance, human resources, and supply‑chain workstreams.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead the formulation and execution of the ERP work plan, ensuring alignment of functional and technical components.
• Direct solution‑architecture activities, including fit‑gap analysis, technical integration assessments, and evaluation of upgrades.
• Oversee analysis of business requirements and translate them into detailed technical designs that integrate across finance (FI/CO), procurement (SPPM), HR (HCM/PY), and supply‑chain (SCM) modules.
• Coordinate development, release management, SAP security, application delivery, ERP BI, and licensing controls.
• Advise senior business stakeholders on the impact of proposed changes on processes, integration, and organizational units.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in ERP programme management, preferably within a large, multi‑national organization.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional workstreams and to communicate technical implications to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills to co‑manage integrated teams and ensure effective segregation of duties.
