Principal GNC Engineer

About the role

Join us as a Principal GNC Engineer to design, build and flight‑test revolutionary propulsion technology, including implementing Thrust Vector Control on a Rotating Detonation Engine vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, analyze, and implement a GN&C system for flight‑test vehicles.
• Develop control laws and algorithms from conceptual design through simulation, testing, implementation, flight testing, and qualification.
• Lead the development of GN&C analysis tools and techniques.
• Work closely with Range Flight Safety and Flight Ops teams to obtain range approvals for flight tests.
• Develop flight test plans, support flight test events, and conduct flight test data analysis.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of GN&C experience, including 7+ years developing control systems in aerospace or aviation.
• Experience verifying GN&C algorithm performance via simulation and flight test.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to meet ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with complex, nonlinear flight control design methods.
• Knowledge of both classical and modern control design techniques.
• System engineering and configuration management expertise.
• Background with rockets, missiles, or other aerospace vehicle systems.
• Flight test experience and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
