Principal Brand Designer

About the role

Ramp is seeking a Principal Brand Designer to define and evolve its brand design system, turning strategy into design and leading key brand projects across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Set creative direction by translating business goals and audience insights into clear brand ideas.
• Lead company-defining projects such as campaigns, launches, and brand experiences from concept to completion.
• Establish and maintain high standards for typography, imagery, layout, and overall brand design.
• Develop and evolve the visual identity, ensuring coherence across all touchpoints.
• Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering to create a unified brand experience.
• Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity.
• Communicate design rationale to partners, aligning on direction, scope, and timing.

Required profile

• Experience using AI tools to accelerate design exploration and iteration.
• Demonstrated agency and in‑house design experience.
• Portfolio showcasing growth, side projects, and a curiosity‑driven mindset.
• Humility, thoughtfulness, and self‑awareness.

Required skills

• Deep portfolio of brand identities, marketing campaigns, and product‑integrated brand work.
• Strong design fundamentals and ability to carry ideas to finished execution.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects independently.
• Negotiation and trade‑off skills with executives and cross‑functional partners.
• Capability to connect creative decisions to audience, product, and business outcomes.
