Preventive Maintenance Data Specialist

About the role

The PM Data Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining preventive maintenance (PM) records within SAP using information from OEM equipment manuals, customer standards, and feedback from the maintenance team. This position supports the maintenance organization by ensuring equipment records, PM task lists, maintenance frequencies, and recommended critical spare parts information are accurately entered and kept up‑to‑date in SAP. The role is on‑site at a customer facility and focuses on data management, documentation, and SAP administration rather than hands‑on maintenance work.

Key responsibilities

• Review OEM equipment manuals and technical documentation to develop preventive maintenance task lists.
• Create and enter preventive maintenance tasks, frequencies, and inspection requirements into SAP.
• Maintain equipment records and functional locations in SAP, ensuring data is complete and correctly categorized.
• Update equipment and PM data whenever modifications, upgrades, or replacements occur.
• Identify recommended critical spare parts from OEM manuals and compile suggested spare‑parts lists for operations teams.
• Document part descriptions, quantities, and OEM references, then forward recommendations to inventory and purchasing personnel.
• Process PM updates requested by technicians, supervisors, and site leaders, and provide SAP data support to maintenance teams.
• Assist with data cleanup, standardization, and audit activities to ensure record accuracy.
• Identify and propose improvements to PM documentation quality, template consistency, and SAP data management processes.
• Participate in customer initiatives and special projects related to preventive maintenance data.
